In my work during the last 10 years I have always been interested in the communicative aspects of art and artworks. Coming from a background of isolation and cultural “invisibility” within the larger framework of contemporary European art and culture, I have always looked for ways to convey my vision and message about life, the world, art and so on, in ways that would be not only meaningful but also clearly understandable for an international audience that has little knowledge about where I come from.
In this task I have always found “inspiration” in the hard knowledge that art feeds on life, as well as on other art as well. A recognizable visual reference to other artworks for me is a tool (bridge) for communicating various new ideas and concerns of mine.
My interests have led me to become involved in the complex, multi-layered and dynamic interaction between art and life, artists, their works and the audience, all of these and the context of the international art world, interactions between people, as well as the cultural and visual contexts they inhabit. This happens in ways that have to do as much with investigation (nearly academic…) as with actual life experience (operational and ironically rich…), with form, as well as content in a related yet somehow distinctly separate waysting.
