Mission Statement

ARTMargins is a forum for the discussion of contemporary art and aesthetic theory from and/or about North Africa and the Middle East; the Americas; Eastern and Western Europe; Southeast and North Asia; and Australasia, with a focus on the critique and methodology of post-Socialism; postmodernism, postcolonialism, as well as global art and global art history.

ARTMargins has two independent yet related outlets:

ARTMargins Online publishes interviews, essays, reviews, and podcasts with a non-exclusive focus on East-Central Europe, the post-soviet space, and the countries of the former Eastern Bloc.

ARTMargins Print is a peer-reviewed triquarterly print journal devoted to contemporary art in or from the global margins in a transnational context.
